REVIEW BY BRANDY! Sand Castle Bay by Sherryl Woods

EXCERPT:

In a trade-off she's lived to regret, Emily Castle left home years ago to become an interior designer. The youngest of three sisters, Emily desperately wanted to prove herself. Success, though, came at the cost of leaving behind the man she loved.

For Boone Dorsett, losing Emily left his heart shattered, but another woman was waiting in the wings. Now a widower with a young son, Boone has a second chance with Emily when a storm brings her home. But with his former in-laws threatening a custody suit, the stakes of loving her are higher than ever.

Will fate once again separate them—or is the time finally right for these two star-crossed lovers?

REVIEW:

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.  I was not compensated.  This was a book that touched my homesick soul.  I grew up on the Outer Banks of North Carolina where this book is set in.  Right from the beginning, I was hooked.  I can't tell you how many times, I have watched Jim Cantore from the Weather Channel show up in the neighborhood to track hurricanes.  When you have spent your life in and around the coast, you know the signs of a storm.  So, when this book starts out with a storm, I know Sherryl Woods knows my homeland coast.

The Ocean Breeze series is based on three sisters.  Sand Castle Bay is the the story of Emily.  She grew up in a small coastal town and fell in love.  In a mess of young adult confusion, she leaves the area to fulfill her dream of becoming an interior designer.  She succeeds beyond her wildest imagination.  However, it seems like it is missing something.

Boone loved Emily and was destroyed when she left.  He married a woman who loved him and they had a child, BJ, together.  She passed away and Boone feels remorse and regret that a part of him continued to love Emily.

When Emily and her sisters come home to help their grandmother fix the family restaurant, Emily is shocked to discover that Boone is a widower and the feelings she had for him are still just as strong as they were a decade ago.  This is an amazing story and I can't wait for the next in the series!  Sidenote.  Don't ever let anyone make you feel like you are the cause of their unhappiness.  Let bygones be bygones before you lose the ones you love.
