REVIEW!! Claiming of a Sex Demon (The Sex Demon Trilogy) by Jaye Shields (@JayeShields, @TastyBookTours)

Excerpt from Amazon:

It's not easy for a sex demon to find a wife, and it's even harder when the perfect woman is already taken.Emmerie Winter has only been married a few months, but depression has made her a fragile stranger in the arms of her husband. She knows she should love him, but she doesn't, and no matter how hard she tries, she can't convince her heart otherwise. When a sex demon with a boyish grin and a sinful body arrives in town, Emmerie's world is turned upside down. His intense passion for life sends her depression into hiding, but her feelings for the sinful male could get her in deep trouble.A sex demon needs climax to survive, but that's never been a problem for Reza Aniron as women seem to be unable to resist his charms…all except for one, a timid, blonde angel who treats him with complete indifference. But in her eyes he can see a fire that's just waiting to be released. And he always did love a challenge.

I don't understand Emmerie and I will tell you that right off the bat.  The woman has a good, strong loving husband but is constantly in a state of depression.  I don't get that.  Now that being said, I really did enjoy this book.  I read Claiming first instead of Confessions based on a friend's advice.  I am glad I took it because I like reading prequel's first. :)    Reza made the book for me.  There is just something sexy about a man that can bring a woman infinite delights in the bedroom and still knows his way around the kitchen.  I did like the fact that Emmerie felt she needed to be honest with Lennox (her husband) about her feelings before making love with Reza.  That tells me she does have character and I wonder if Ms. Shields is going to further develop that.  I also thought her brother seemed to be a strong man and would like to see more of him as well.

I have only recently expanded my paranormal reading to include things other then vampires, werewolves and witches.  I have to say the Sex Demons were the place to go.  I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read Confessions and Addictions (Feb 2013) to round out this awesome trilogy!

**I was given a copy of this book in return for my honest review.  I am not being compensated for my opinion.**

Wild About You by Kerrelyn Sparks (Love at Stake Series) @avonbooks

Excerpt from Amazon:

Handsome Howard . . .

Hunky Howard . . .

Hot Howard . . .

It's not every day that Elsa Bjornberg feels delicate, not when she hosts a home renovation show where she can effortlessly demolish a kitchen. But from the moment she meets Howard Barr, this bear of a man makes her feel like a woman. And the way he looks at her, as if she were a pot of honey he'd like to lick . . .

Howard is not like most men. For one thing, he's a shapeshifter. And he always thought his celebrity crush would never amount to anything more than drooling at Elsa on TV. When his meddling vampire employer gets involved, the star is suddenly within his grasp—and within a hair of her life. For an ancient curse forbids their newfound love, and Howard is suddenly torn between his desire for her and his desire to keep her alive.

I just finished this book and I must say, WOW! I am so glad that Howard finally got his own story!

This book continues the Love at Stake series which is amazing and everyone needs to read. Howard is a were-bear who is the daytime guard for the Draganesti family. Shanna Draganesti discovers that Howard holds a secret fascination to a DIY builder named Elsa. I have to say that I love the whole reality TV Home Edition thing that Ms. Sparks is doing in this story!  Elsa and Howard are in for a whirlwind ride that includes curses, revenge and murder. What do you do when you realize that the person you love is forbidden to you because of an ancient curse?  Throw the chips in the air and let them land where they may!

Take the time to read all the incredible stories in this series, you won't be disappointed!

How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire (Love at Stake series) by Kerrelyn Sparks (@KerrelynSparks, @avonbooks)

This is the first book in the Love at Stake series.  Roman Draganesti is a vampire and a scientific genius.  He is responsible for developing synthetic blood.  With its creation, he has been able to save millions of lives and develop bagged blood for vampires.  When one of his scientists creates a "real-life" blood bag made out of a sex doll, Roman thinks they may be onto something.  Once he bites into it and loses a fang, he realizes that it is not all it is cracked up to be.  What is a vampire supposed to do in the middle of the night with a broken fang?  Call a dentist of course!

Shanna Whelan is a dentist in hiding.  After having witnessed a Russian Mafia hit that killed her best friend, Shanna was put into witness protection.  However, she has a bigger problem to contend with.  How is she supposed to continue to be a doctor when the sight of blood causes her to pass out?

Roman shows up at Shanna's 24 hour clinic just in time to save her from another hit and in return she fixes his fang before he has to spend eternity with a deformity.  By helping Shanna, Roman falls into a confrontation with his long-time vampire nemesis.  Shanna doesn't understand what is going on at first and the feelings that Roman inspires are confusing.  Will she be able to overlook the stereotype to find the man that lies inside?

I have read all of the series and enjoy them more everytime I read them!

To Kill a Warlock (Book 1 of the Dulcie O'Neil Series) by H.P. Mallory (@HPMallory)

Dulcie O'Neil is a hard-working Fairy that wants to write a novel. Working in law enforcement as a Regulator (paranormal cop) Dulcie knows she has to save up so she can stop working to write her novel. I love how this started out as Dulcie being turned into a disgusting slime creature. It showed that she had a sarcastic side to her that resonates with me. Dulcie finds herself in a pickle when a warlock that specialized in the dark arts is killed. Having been the last one to see him alive, throws a kink into her life as a Regulator. When a mysterious stranger shows up and tells her he needs her help to solve some murders, Dulcie is sure that he is involved somehow. Dulcie has trust issues due to a previous relationship and I find it hysterical that she has all these luscious men lusting after her. Bram is by far my favorite, but that could be because I tend to lust after vampires. I hope we have more interaction with him in the rest of the series!

This story brings together creatures that we don't normally see in paranormal books. We have demons, vampires, witches, a loki, gremlins and a hobgoblin. I can't wait to see where H.P. Mallory takes me.

My Twisted Drink: A Vampire Romance by JoAnn Mayer

I am a vampire junkie and will read just about anything I can get my hands on. I was not sure how this story was going to go but I was blown away! It is a new spin on the story and I love that! Alexander is a love him, hate him character that you can't help but fall in love with! Charlotte frustrated me at times but when you understand her backstory, you realize she is a powerful woman. Take a chance and fall in love with a vampire story that is true to the heart of the characters.

A Night at Tears of Crimson (Tears of Crimson Vampire Nightclub) by Michelle Hughes

This has to be one of the sexiest paranormal reads that I have found. When I first purchased this book I was unfamiliar with the work of Ms. Hughes but I decided to take a chance because lets face it, sex and vampires are pure seduction. I love the setting of a bar in New Orleans. I am from the south and those hidden little bars have some of the most fascinating stories to tell. Her characters, Rafe and Cara, are real. They feel a connection that doesn't happen everyday and seeing that passion develop is like watching a flower unfold.

Lucas (Vampires in America) by D.B. Reynolds

All I can say is D.B. Reynolds knows how to write a vampire book. This is the sixth book in the Vampires in America series and I am amazed at how engrossing they are. I have read all of them and they keep getting better and better.

Lord Lucas Donlon is the vampire Lord for the midwest territory. He is not especially thrilled to have to meet with a FBI official and does so just to keep off the grid. He was not expecting the beautiful, tall and elegant Kathryn Hunter to walk in. Kathryn is looking for her missing brother, Daniel, who is a world famous photographer. He has been missing for several weeks and has made no contact with her. He was last seen leaving a blood house in Lucas's area so she sets up a meeting with him. Sparks fly which sets both of these dominant characters on their toes. Violence and war between two vampire lords rocks the pages of this book, taking us all over the midwest. In between a love develops that puts our characters to the test. The search for her brother leads to a few hidden truths in Kathryn's world and opens her up to a vulnerability she had never felt before.

I advise everyone who enjoys paranormal romance to take a look at D.B Reynolds Vampires in America series. You will not be disappointed.

Wolfishly Yours by Lydia Dare

This was an ARC book that I received for review. What an amazing book. I was familiar with the Hadley family through previous Lydia Dare books. Livi is a wild hoyden from New Orleans by her father to be turned into a proper English lady by her grandfather who is an Earl. Grayson Hadley of the wild and roguish Hadley brothers is a Lycan with a penchant for trouble. When he sees Livi for the first time he is stunned by her beauty and when she tells him she is from a Lycan family he is floored.

I really do like this book and since I had already read some books by this author I was familiar with the Lycan families. I do think that the book should have included some Lycan history and information for those who are reading a Lydia Dare book for the first time.

I was intrigued by how many supporting characters were in this book and how many could get their own story.

Livi and Grayson share a passion that melts the pages. It's nice to see a book that focuses on the characters and their interactions with each other. I give it 4 stars and recommend it for all romance and paranormal lovers.
