Jabril by D.B. Reynolds (Vampires in America) @DBReynoldsWrite

Excerpt from Amazon:

Houston, Texas—Cowboy boots, baseball and journeys to the stars . . . right? Wrong. Because Houston is also home to Jabril Karim, one of the eight powerful Vampire Lords who control all of North America. And as Private Investigator Cynthia Leighton will soon discover, not all Vampire Lords are created equal. For Jabril is the face of evil in the new world, a vampire who values no life but his own, who enslaves those he desires, steals whatever he covets and destroys anyone who stands in his way. Running from L.A. and its seductive Vampire Lord, Raphael, Cyn sees the Houston job as a welcome refuge, a place to get away and heal her broken heart. But Texas will be no vacation. For in Jabril Karim, Cyn will confront a true enemy, one who will go to any lengths to satisfy his lusts, enrich his coffers and expand his power. Fighting for the lives of two young sisters, Cyn’s journey will take her through the streets of Houston and back to L.A., where the human police are determined to bring Raphael down for the murder of one of their own. But the danger doesn’t end there. For Jabril has set his sights on Cyn, and he will stop at nothing to have her.

The second book in the Vampires in America series picks up a month after Raphael ends.  Raphael has left Malibu and Cyn for parts unknown.  Cyn is desperate to return to some sense of normalcy but the sensual dreams she has won't allow that to happen. Cyn has been contacted by a vampire lord to help find a missing girl in Texas. When she arrives she discovers that he has hired a man to do the job and really only wanted to upset Raphael.  That doesn't stop Cyn from doing her job though.

Mirabelle and Elizabeth were the daughters of wealthy parents and after their tragic deaths, the courts allowed Jabril to have custody of them.  On Mirabelle's 18th birthday she was turned so that Jabril would always have their fortune.  Now with Elizabeth's 18th birthday on the horizon, she has runaway in order to stay human.  Once Cyn realizes what is really going on, she makes it her mission to not only find Elizabeth but to rescue Mirabelle as well.

When Cyn discovers that Liz has runaway to L.A., she enlists the help of her friend who runs a shelter to assist her.  In return, Cyn agrees to look into murders of young girls that just happen to look like vampire kills.  This story keeps you coming back for more.  D.B Reynolds has captivated me with her vampires and I love it!

Vampires in America: The Vignettes-Vol 1 by D.B. Reynolds (@DBReynoldsWrite)

I am a huge fan of this series and have already done a few reviews (more are coming!).  This volume is a look after the books to catch up on our characters.  I don't want to include any spoilers in case you haven't read the actual books.

These short stories include followups to Raphael and Cyn (my faves), Duncan and Emma, and the wedding of Raj and Sarah.  I hope that you will include this in your Vampires of America collection!

Raphael by D.B. Reynolds (Vampires in America) @DBReynoldsWrite

It is no secret that I am a fan of vampires and if you can create a series that entangles me, well then I am a fan for life.  D.B. Reynolds has created a group of vampires that I am enthralled with.  Book one starts with Raphael.  Raphael is one of eight vampire lords that rule over the North American continent.  Sexy, rich and powerful.  Does it get any better?  While Raphael is away on business, betrayal is the name of the game when one of his "children" (Alexandra) is kidnapped.  Realizing that humans are involved and knowing that they are a weakness that can lead him to the person behind this atrocity, he has his people bring in a human private investigator.

Cynthia Leighton is smart, intuitive and is able to get the job done.  Even though she knows about vampires and has done odd jobs for them, the thought of working with the powerful vampire lord is a little unsettling.  Digging deeper into the powerful world of Raphael leads her into a love that consumes them both.

I really enjoy this series and have read all of them several times.  Cynthia is a very strong heroine and I love that she knows what she wants and goes after it.  There are moments when you roll your eyes and want to tell her to suck it up though. :)  Raphael's character is written so well, that you can picture him and since the power rippling off the pages.  The sex in these books is real.  What I mean is they are things that you could actually have happen to you, besides the sucking of the blood.

Don't take my word for it though.  Pick this series up and immerse yourself in D.B Reynolds' world of Vampires in America.

Lucas (Vampires in America) by D.B. Reynolds

All I can say is D.B. Reynolds knows how to write a vampire book. This is the sixth book in the Vampires in America series and I am amazed at how engrossing they are. I have read all of them and they keep getting better and better.

Lord Lucas Donlon is the vampire Lord for the midwest territory. He is not especially thrilled to have to meet with a FBI official and does so just to keep off the grid. He was not expecting the beautiful, tall and elegant Kathryn Hunter to walk in. Kathryn is looking for her missing brother, Daniel, who is a world famous photographer. He has been missing for several weeks and has made no contact with her. He was last seen leaving a blood house in Lucas's area so she sets up a meeting with him. Sparks fly which sets both of these dominant characters on their toes. Violence and war between two vampire lords rocks the pages of this book, taking us all over the midwest. In between a love develops that puts our characters to the test. The search for her brother leads to a few hidden truths in Kathryn's world and opens her up to a vulnerability she had never felt before.

I advise everyone who enjoys paranormal romance to take a look at D.B Reynolds Vampires in America series. You will not be disappointed.
