REVIEW!! If I Were You by Lisa Renee Jones (@LisaReneeJones)

BLURB:

The steamy first installment in the Inside Out erotic romance trilogy by Lisa Renee Jones, in the bestselling tradition of Fifty Shades of Grey.

When Sara McMillan finds a stack of journals in a storage unit, she’s shocked and enthralled by the erotic life the writer led. Unable to stop reading, she vicariously lives out dark fantasies through Rebecca, the writer—until the terrifying final entry.

Certain something sinister has happened, Sara sets out to discover the facts, immersing herself in Rebecca’s life. Soon she’s working at the art gallery Rebecca worked at and meeting Rebecca’s friends. Finding herself drawn to two dangerously sexy men, the manager of the gallery and a famed artist, Sara realizes she’s going down the same path Rebecca took. But with the promise of her dark needs being met by a man with confident good looks and a desire for control, she’s not sure anything else matters. Just the burn for more.

REVIEW:

I loved this story and can't wait to see where Lisa Renee Jones will take this trilogy!  Sara is blown away when she starts to read Rebecca's journal.  She is aroused by the things she reads, yet she is also worried about this stranger.  The entries start to grow darker and more frightening.  She begins to wonder what happened to Rebecca.  From the tone of the journal it almost sounds like she feared for her life.  She starts contacting the art gallery that Rebecca worked at, and is told that she took an extended vacation.  When Sara realizes that she needs to go to the gallery, she purchases tickets to an opening for one of her favorite artist.

While at the opening she makes an impression on the owner of the gallery and he offers her a job.  Rebecca's job.  This startles Sara, however; she has an art degree and loves it so she accepts.  As she sinks deeper and deeper into Rebecca's world, Sara can't help but wonder if she is walking in Rebecca's shoes.  Sara is discovering things about herself that she never even thought about, and the men that are teaching her that there is more to life then what she had always believed.

I have yet to come across a book by Ms. Jones that I didn't enjoy and If I Were You doesn't disappoint.

BLOG TOUR Guest Post Featuring Lisa Renee Jones! (@LisaReneeJones)

inside-out-banner21

Oh, kittens, I can't even begin to describe how excited I was to be asked to have Lisa Renee Jones do a guest blog!   Talk about a fangirl moment!

Lisa Renee Jones:  Thanks for having me today to talk about THE INSIDE OUT TRILOGY
Inspired by a journal my fiancee found when buying and selling storage units (yes like the show but before the show) I call this series my SHADES OF GREY meets BASIC INSTINCT. Why Shades of Grey? The dark, damaged characters and passion. Why Basic Instinct? Because the main character Sara finds an erotic journal and begins to read. Sara becomes as obsessed with the writer of the journal as the writer is with the two men in the journal, and they with her. She seeks out the woman to be sure she is safe and becomes absorbed in her life, where she meets two powerful men — one of which draws her into an intensely passionate affair.
Now I’m excited to get to release Rebecca’s Journals that were lost and never found. These tell her story and her erotic journey and they are packed with clues to what happens in BEING ME. They are perfect to read between IF I WERE YOU and BEING ME but they can be read alone as well.

Here’s a little about IF I WERE YOU and a excerpt:
Click here to read Ch. 1
Book 1: If I Were You

Book 2: Being Me

Book 3: Revealing Us
He is rich and famous, and dark in ways I shouldn’t find intriguing, but I do. I so do. I don’t understand why his dark side appeals to me, but the attraction between us is rich with velvety promises of satisfaction. Chris is dark, and so are his desires, but I cannot turn away. He is damaged beneath his confident good looks and need for control, and in some way, I feel he needs me. I need him.
A short excerpt from IF I WERE YOU:
His fingers knot in my hair and I gasp at the unexpected bite of his grip, holding me steady. “Is that all you got?” I demand, shocked at how much I want more. How much I want whatever is beneath his surface.
I’m not scared. I’m aroused. I’m ready.
His eyes probe mine, his expression hard, intense. “I thought you were a good little school teacher.”
“You’re corrupting me,” I declare, “and I seem to like it.” I barely issue the challenge before he’s pulling my mouth to his, and he is kissing me with unrestrained, burning passion. I taste the part of him I want to know, the part he’s afraid of, and I burn to know more. Maybe he’s right. Maybe I am playing with fire, but I cannot stop myself. Beyond reason, I will push him until he reveals everything.

Dangerous Secrets (Tall, Dark and Deadly #2) by Lisa Renee Jones (@LisaReneeJones)

OMG! I recently read Ms. Jones' Secrets Exposed book which was a prelude to these books so when I realized they were sexy, hot stories that involved brothers, I went searching through Amazon. Turns out I had already downloaded several of her books so I got to reading!

Julie Harrison is a divorce attorney for the rich and selfish and is currently working on a case for a New York judge. Julie is very good at keeping men at bay, especially after she has seen the devestation left behind in relationships. Only one man has ever come close to bring Julie to her knees and that was Luke Walker.

Luke is a former Navy SEAL, who runs a security firm with his brothers. Walker Security is one of the best in the business. Julie and Luke had spent a month as lovers a few years prior until Luke had to go back to war and neither one of them had the courage to make a commitment. Since then they have been trying to avoid any entanglements with each other. Easier said then done. Royce, Luke's brother, is marrying Julie's best friend, Lauren. That makes Julie and Luke, the best man and maid of honor, which puts them together quite a bit.

When Julie gets tangled up in her client's shady dealings, she automatically turns to Luke for help. Delving into the world of drugs, cartels, and art these two take on a world of bad guys in order to save kids from tainted drugs.

Can Luke convince Julie to take a chance on their relationship or is he destined to remain a friend with benefits? This is an sexy story that draws you in and reminds you that sometimes you have to take a chance even when you are scared.

Secrets Exposed by Lisa Renee Jones

I have to admit that I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy this story but I found that I did.  I am not a big fan stories about lawyers and was surprised that this one read as well as it did.  Lindsey Paxton was a lawyer who had left her father's law firm in New York after a bad case.  She had been defending an accused serial murderer and won the case.  After he was released another girl was found and DNA evidence pointed to her client.  Feeling responsible for the death of the girl, Lindsey left law and moved to Washington to join the FBI.  Her father has been diagnosed with cancer and Lindsey has come back to New York on a temp basis to get the firm back on track.  Mark Reeves is an ex-partner of Lindsey's father and the one person Lindsey hopes will help.

Mark has no desire to go back to the Paxton law firm.  Edward Paxton was not the same man who had trained him for years and the bad feelings between the two were obvious.  However, after meeting Lindsey in person and not just in pictures, he feels a connection he has never felt before.  He agrees to help the firm for six months as long as she stays as well.  Lindsey is not happy with that since she wants to get of New York and away from a case that is strangely like the case that almost destroyed her to begin with.

Join these two has they unfold the mysteries of love and murder.
