REVIEW:

I am and always will be a fan of Eloisa's!   I loved The Ugly Duchess and Seduced by a Pirate so to have more is just awesome.  This is the story of Grace and Colin.  Colin has gone to the sea like his adopted father but war is never the romantic thing we think it should be.  Grace has thought Colin was amazing for most of her life but being the "plain" daughter, she has always felt she was watching from the sidelines.  When she takes up a correspondence with Colin she begins to believe he is seeing her differently.  When he comes home and she watches him fall in love with her sister, Lily; she begins to realize she was a fool.  I can't wait for the next one!

REVIEW:

I love a mother that has a spark of naughty to her!  When the Duchess agrees to help Grace break her engagement and compromise Colin, I have to admit that I developed a crush!  This is the type of mom I want to be!  The type that will do whatever it takes to make their childrens happiness come to pass. 

As I read the pain that Grace feels when talking with Colin in the parlor, I feel for her.  It is never easy to believe that you rate second best, especially when you love someone as much as she loves Colin.  I am loving this story!

REVIEW:

I love how this story ended but I would like to know what happened with Lily!  Eloisa always knows how to leave me hungering for more!  Colin realizes that he has been saved in everyway by Grace.  The fear leaves his soul when he is with her and there is not a price that can be placed on that.  Thank you, Eloisa; for another amazing story!

I wasn't sure what I wanted to talk about for my edition of our blog hop. I have been a fan of romance novels since I was about 11 years old and read my first Harlequin. It wasn't long before I moved into historicals and when I discovered that I was a speed reader, I never looked back!

There are so many amazing authors involved with Avon books and limiting myself to an absolute favorite is nearly impossible to do. I figured I would tell you about 3 of my favorites though.

Eloisa James is one of the world's greatest writers and if you have not read her Duchess books you need to link to Amazon right now and start downloading them! (Click to see some of my reviews for Eloisa) She creates a world that you can immerse yourself in and imagine that you are a member of the ton! I have been a fan since the first time I read Potent Pleasures. A delightful read and one I recommend for everyone's library. I have read every book multiple times and I am even an Ambassador for Eloisa!(Click here to go to Eloisa's website!)

Lynsay Sands should need no introduction but if you are unaware of this creative genuis, then you need to check out the Argeneau Vampires series. (Check out a couple of my reviews here) I read Single White Vampire first and was so hooked that I hunted down the other books. Lucern is a vampire that writes romances. Love it! Fast forward a few years later and I have the complete series and hunger for more. If you like vampires you will love this family as much as I do.(Click here to head to Lynsay's website!)

And last but certainly not least, Julia Quinn. (Click here for a favorite review)I discovered Julia when I read The Duke and I, the first in the Bridgerton series. I was hooked from that point on. I have devoured every book she has written and The Duke and I remains one of my favorite books of all time. There is just something about Daphne and Simon that intrigues me.(Click here to head over to Julia's webpage!)

Seduced by a Pirate by Eloisa James

I really enjoyed Phoebe and Griffin's story. There is just something about a pirate that says yummy. This is a novella that flows with or without the addition of The Ugly Duchess.

Griffin was 17 when he married the lovely and older Phoebe and with having some, let's say difficulty, on his wedding night he jumped through the window and went to get drunk. He was pressed to join a ship and woke up in the middle of the ocean. He proceeded to begin the life of a pirate later to become a privateer. Fast forward 14 years and he has now been injured and realizes that he wants to go home to the wife he left behind.

When he left his wife, she was a virgin, when he comes home it is to find three children waiting for him. Griffin takes things in stride and realizes that he made a mistake leaving his wife unsatisfied all those years ago and vows to fix that as soon as possible.

An Eloisa James novel is always a good choice to read and this is no exception. The taming of a rake or in this instance, a pirate, is always a great story.

The Ugly Duchess by Eloisa James

What an amazing book! I am never disappointed when I pick up one of Eloisa's books. Theo is one of those characters that you can not help but to relate to. How many times have we looked out ourselves and made comparisons to the Ugly Duckling? Most romance novels have the perfect English rose type girl and I love how she has stepped out of that mold and made someone realistic. James is a man that sees beyond what lies on the surface and appreciates Theo for the beauty that she holds within. Even though their marriage does not start out as it should and a lot of conflict, hurt and pain follows, love will rule out in the end. I love these two amazing people and hope that she includes them in stories to come!
