I am going to tell you that this is the third in the series and you don't need to read the other two.  I haven't read anything else in this series and the thing that brought me to the table with this one is the fact that the main character's name is Roark.  That is my maiden name.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book.  The author is talented and well prepared.  She manages to draw you into a time and place that you didn't think you would be able to live in.  Adaira is the type of lady that I think I would have been.  Funny, lively and opinionated in all of the right ways!  Her first impression and the way she handles Roark leads them down a path that neither one was really expecting.  Sometimes the things that seem to go wrong the most, bring us to the right place in the end.

I think this story is an amazing addition to my library and I will be looking for more by this author.
